Warmblood Mare - Low Palmer Angles

Poppy is a young Warmblood mare, very low in her heels, especially her hinds. No Xrays were taken so NPA could not be diagnosed, but it is assumed from external indicators of dorsal wall and coronet band angles. Her heels were also run forward, pushing up at the quarters.

We did two 8 week cycles of Formahoof (16 weeks total). Formahoof is the only application I will leave on for this longer cycle (usually working around a 4 week trimming or shoeing cycle), due to the way it expands with the hoof.

We had excellent gains in dorsal wall angle, coronet band angle and heel depth and angle, giving us a much healthier hoof to take forward into composite shoes and then barefoot.
