Warmblood Gelding - Atrophied Caudal Hoof and Thrush
Warmblood dressage gelding in his mid teens with very atrophied cadual hoof and severe, deep central sulcus thrush - a hoof pick could be pushed through the crevice in the frog and come out through the hairline, frogs were very thin and squishy.
Initially we pulled the shoes and he was kept barefoot in boots with daily thrush treatment applications. Then he was shod with glue-on composite shoes to help him out on the hard HB ground and arena surfaces.
