Miniature Pony - Laminitis

Sarah is a mini in her early teens who, like many minis and ponies suffers from laminitic inflamation on grass. Despite her committed owner managing her on “practically no grass” this is a pony who really needed to be on a dry lot with zero grass. Year round she would have a pink tinge to her hooves and come spring she became acutely laminitc; rocked back stance, slow, painful movement, red event lines and signs of rotation.

Once Sarah was able to live on a drylot with only hay and a small feed for balanced minerals, her system and her feet settled down, the colour grew out and healthier, reconnected growth came in. Best of all, she is now comfortable year round, with no seasonal flair ups.
